Senior Software Engineer, Dart
Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Tactical Recon & Strike (TRS) division, focusing on the development of autonomous drones and solid rocket motors. The TRS team is responsible for transforming products like Ghost, Anvil, Bolt, and Altius from initial concepts into fully operational capabilities by collaborating closely with specialist engineering, operations, and production teams. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to highly capable autonomous robotics systems and propulsion products that operate reliably in demanding mission environments.
In this position, the engineer will develop and maintain core robotics libraries, including frame transformations, targeting, and guidance systems, utilized across all Anduril robotics platforms. Responsibilities include leading the development and implementation of major product features, such as designing and building an end-to-end target tracking pipeline for Dart. The role also involves close collaboration with hardware and manufacturing teams throughout the product development lifecycle, providing timely feedback to influence and enhance final hardware designs. Additionally, the engineer will troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in deployed systems, ensuring optimal performance in the field.
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field, along with at least 5 years of professional software development experience. Strong proficiency in C++ or Rust, with experience in Linux development environments, is required. Applicants should demonstrate expertise in data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and code optimization, as well as proven experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems. Hands-on experience working with and testing electrical and mechanical systems is also essential. Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, including hardware and manufacturing, and strong problem-solving skills are necessary. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance and be willing to relocate to Costa Mesa, CA.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $220,000 to $292,000 USD, with actual offers varying based on factors such as work experience, education, and critical skills. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
