Webflow is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Developer Productivity team, focusing on modernizing and securing the technical foundation that supports all Webflow engineers. This role involves leading critical platform migrations and developing automated systems to keep core dependencies, such as Node.js and React, up to date. As a key member of our new Buenos Aires office, you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing our software supply chain and enabling exceptional developer velocity through a streamlined, current tech stack.

In this position, you will execute foundational upgrades to improve runtime performance, enable new features, and meet security requirements. You'll standardize frontend architecture by coordinating upgrades across our monorepo and micro-frontends, utilizing automated codemods to minimize manual refactoring. Additionally, you'll scale automated governance by leveraging AI to evolve our tools from simple patch updates to automated, risk-based merging of non-breaking changes. Optimizing build performance by modernizing our toolchain and eliminating technical debt through proactive identification and remediation of package vulnerabilities are also key responsibilities.

The ideal candidate has over five years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record in managing large-scale framework migrations and dependency upgrades in complex production environments. Deep technical expertise in the Node.js, TypeScript, and React ecosystems, including familiarity with libraries like Express, Nest.js, and Mongoose, is essential. Hands-on experience with modern build systems and testing frameworks such as Nx, Vite/Webpack, SWC, and Playwright is also required. A passion for automation to reduce manual tasks, the ability to balance modernization urgency with system stability, and strong skills in distilling complex technical trade-offs into clear plans are crucial.
