Senior Software Engineer
EarnIn is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and resourceful Senior Web Engineer to join our team. Our Early Bets initiatives are critical to EarnIn’s success, providing new experiences and products for our users to ensure they are empowered with a more comprehensive ecosystem of solutions. We seek engineers who thrive in uncertainty and excel at defining technical solutions in ambiguous environments and collaborating closely with Product teams to refine requirements. The ideal candidate has experience building 0-to-1 products, demonstrating a strong ability to design and implement scalable architectures that support rapid product evolution. Candidates with backgrounds in early-stage software products engineered for scale or those who have worked in Research & Development for new technologies will fit well in our team.
In this role, you will partner with Product and Design to define, build, and evolve user experiences using modern frontend technologies. You will own and evolve the frontend architecture to ensure scalability, performance, accessibility, and long-term maintainability. Responsibilities include leading the design and implementation of complex frontend systems using React, TypeScript, and Next.js, including server-side rendering, routing, data fetching, and performance optimization. You will establish and uphold frontend engineering standards, including patterns, tooling, testing strategies, and CI/CD best practices. Additionally, you will drive cross-team technical initiatives, aligning frontend architecture with backend APIs, platform capabilities, and product strategy.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding or equivalent technical experience. Expert-level proficiency in modern frontend development, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Next.js, is required. Strong experience with frontend architecture, including state management, component design, design systems, micro-frontends (or modular architectures), and performance optimization, is essential. Experience building and operating production web applications using server-side and client-side rendering is necessary. A deep understanding of software engineering best practices across the software development lifecycle, including testing, code reviews, observability, and operational excellence, is expected. A minimum of 4 years of industry experience, with significant depth in frontend or web platform development, is required. Experience working in cloud-based environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure), particularly as it relates to frontend delivery and integration, is also necessary.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $210,000 - $257,000, plus equity and benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. This is a hybrid position in Mountain View (Headquarters) and will require in-office work 2 days a week.
