Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure
CLEAR is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Network Engineering team, focusing on building and scaling the infrastructure that supports its secure identity platform. This role is pivotal in developing next-generation systems that enhance the reliability, simplicity, and scalability of CLEAR's services, which aim to make experiences safer and easier for over 38 million members worldwide.
The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for creating streamlined processes that enable engineers to build and deploy scalable, reliable software-defined networking solutions on AWS. Key tasks include enhancing the compute platform by integrating new functionalities, particularly in AWS networking services and Kubernetes networking solutions like service mesh (Istio). The role also involves collaborating across engineering teams to implement best practices in observability using tools such as Splunk or Datadog, and acting as a product owner for infrastructure by gathering feedback to address engineering challenges.
Candidates should have over six years of experience in infrastructure and platform development, with a strong emphasis on software-defined networking and AWS cloud services. Proficiency in modern programming languages like Python, a solid understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration tools such as EKS and ECS, and familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation are essential. A commitment to continuous system improvement, along with a strong grasp of networking concepts and Linux systems, is also required.
CLEAR offers a comprehensive compensation package, including a base salary range of $175,000 to $215,000, depending on skills and experience.
