Senior Software Engineer (Python and AWS)
As a Senior Software Engineer at Diligent, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performing microservices that power our SaaS solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and integrate AI/ML capabilities into our platform, leveraging modern technologies such as Python, AWS, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools. This position offers the opportunity to influence both the codebase and the product, contributing to the future-state design of our platform.
Your primary responsibilities will include designing, implementing, reviewing, and testing features in an Agile environment. You will contribute to system architecture decisions, build and optimize scalable data processing solutions, and develop and integrate AI/ML capabilities into data workflows. Additionally, you will prototype and validate backend approaches, collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering Managers to refine requirements, and ensure the reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency of solutions.
The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in a hands-on development role at a commercial software company, with strong proficiency in Python and common libraries. Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL and ElasticSearch, is essential. Solid experience with cloud-native development, particularly on AWS, and hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or AWS CDK (TypeScript) are also required. A problem-solving attitude, good communication skills, and the ability to contribute effectively to a high-performing Agile team are crucial.
