Senior Staff Engineer, SOC Architect and Hardware Engineering
The Senior Staff Engineer, SOC Architect and Hardware Engineering position at Samsung Semiconductor involves leading the development of System-on-Chip (SoC) architectures that meet aggressive power, performance, and area (PPA) targets. This role is integral to translating client requirements into optimal SoC designs, ensuring alignment with Samsung's innovative technology solutions.
Key responsibilities include analyzing and defining functional, performance, and power requirements based on client applications, specifying top-level SoC architecture and microarchitecture, and evaluating architectural trade-offs using performance and power modeling. The engineer will also provide technical guidance on IP selection, integration, and system optimization, and define strategies for design for debug, test, and excellence (DFx).
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline with over 10 years of experience, or a Master's degree with over 8 years of experience. Required expertise includes deep understanding of computer architecture and SoC design, experience with on-chip interconnects and high-speed interface protocols, knowledge of power management and low-power design techniques, and proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
Compensation for this role ranges from $189,000 to $301,000 annually, with additional incentive opportunities based on individual and company performance.
