Senior Staff Engineer, SOC Design Verification
Samsung Semiconductor's Advanced Controller Development (ACD) team is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer specializing in System-on-Chip (SoC) Design Verification. This role focuses on enhancing storage capabilities by developing and optimizing prototype controllers for mass production. The ACD team is integral to Samsung's R&D efforts, collaborating closely with development teams to introduce innovative features into product roadmaps.
The Senior Staff Engineer will be responsible for developing verification infrastructure and automation environments, leading verification efforts for AI accelerator IP blocks, and creating testbenches. Additional duties include defining verification scopes, creating test plans for functional and performance validation, and ensuring the quality of verification metrics. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers and collaborating across teams to debug failures.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree with 15+ years, a Master's degree with 13+ years, or a Ph.D. with 10+ years of industry experience. A strong background in SoC or IP verification, test bench development using UVM, SystemVerilog, C/C++, and scripting languages such as Perl/Python is required. Experience in verifying complex IP blocks, understanding RTL, and strong debugging skills are essential. Knowledge of computational logic, interconnect networks, memory systems, microarchitecture, and computer architecture, preferably in AI accelerators, is desirable. Experience with FPGA and emulation platforms is preferred.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $189,000 to $301,000 annually, along with incentive opportunities based on individual and company performance.
