This role involves collaborating with senior leaders across Engineering, Product, and Design to shape and implement the future of Webflow's AI-native conversion platform.

Key responsibilities include setting the long-term technical vision and architecture for backend systems that support experimentation, personalization, analytics, and conversion optimization. The engineer will architect and evolve high-throughput distributed systems and APIs, ensuring low latency, high availability, and strong consistency. The ideal candidate will have over 12 years of software engineering experience, with extensive expertise in architecting and operating large-scale backend and distributed systems. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go is essential, along with a deep understanding of modern frameworks and distributed systems patterns. Experience in designing and operating high-throughput, data-intensive systems, as well as demonstrated technical leadership in cross-functional initiatives, is required. Strong communication skills and the ability to make pragmatic decisions in fast-paced environments are also important.

Compensation for this role varies based on geographic location. In the United States, the base salary ranges from $204,800 to $290,000, depending on the zone. In Canada (ON & BC), the salary ranges from CAD 253,000 to 316,000. This position is also eligible for Webflow's company-wide bonus program, with target amounts varying by career level and payouts based on company performance.

Webflow offers a remote-first work environment built on trust and transparency. The company provides comprehensive health coverage, flexible vacation policies, and support for various stages of family life, including paid parental leave.
