Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Maneuver Dominance team in Costa Mesa, California. This team focuses on developing autonomous air vehicles that operate in coordinated teams alongside ground forces, enhancing mission capabilities. As a key player in this innovative environment, you will contribute to the design and analysis of advanced structural components for cutting-edge defense technologies.

In this role, you will perform static and dynamic structural analyses across various domains, utilizing first principles and appropriate analysis methods such as hand calculations, spreadsheets, scripts, and detailed finite element analysis (FEA). You will develop and manage finite element models (FEM) at both global and subsystem levels, collaborate with hardware engineers to inform design decisions based on analytical results, and conduct validation testing, including instrumentation setup, data collection, and model correlation. Additionally, you will document analysis methodologies and results in technical reports for internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring designs meet customer requirements, industry standards, and safety regulations.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or applied physics with a focus on structures, along with a deep understanding of statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, and material properties. Proficiency in FEA software such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or NASTRAN, as well as experience with CAD tools like NX or SolidWorks, is essential. Strong skills in Matlab or Python for developing analytical models, data acquisition, and automation are also required. Candidates should be highly motivated, self-starting, and capable of performing duties autonomously without supervision. The ability to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance is necessary.

Anduril offers a competitive salary range for this role, estimated between $146,000 and $194,000 USD annually. Actual salary offers may vary based on factors such as work experience, education, critical skills, and business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
