Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Omen team at our Costa Mesa headquarters. Omen is Anduril’s hover-to-cruise autonomous air vehicle (AAV) that combines the endurance, payload capacity, and mission flexibility of larger aircraft into a novel, runway-independent Group 3 platform. Capable of operating from ship decks, beaches, or remote clearings, Omen offers true runway independence and maneuverability across defense and civilian domains. This position offers the opportunity to work on new aircraft development in a lean, high-ownership culture, directly shaping the product and achieving flight of new designs within months, not years.

The Senior Systems Engineer will execute an agile systems engineering approach as outlined in the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) for the development of the Omen capability. Responsibilities include supporting design teams in the evolution and progress of Technical Performance Measures (TPMs) throughout the design process, contributing to system design reviews and engineering governance structures, and developing key systems engineering design artifacts such as System Description Documents (SDDs) and Interface Control Documents (ICDs). The role also involves championing the use of the Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) to enable system maturation and supporting build, ground, and flight tests of prototype and production representative Omen systems.

Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline, along with at least 5 years of industry systems engineering experience, including work with safety-critical hardware and software systems in the defense or aerospace industries. Demonstrable systems engineering proficiency, including solicitation of requirements with the customer/end-user and collaboration with design teams, is essential. Experience developing traditional and right-sized systems engineering artifacts, including pragmatic verification and validation plans, and a deep understanding of the test and evaluation process as applicable to developmental, acceptance, and operational testing are required. Familiarity with technical software packages such as Teamcenter, JIRA, JAMA, Cameo, and/or Ansys is also necessary.

The salary range for this role is $166,000 to $220,000 USD annually. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package. Additionally, Anduril offers top-tier benefits for full-time employees, including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans at little to no cost, income protection through life and disability insurance, generous time off with a holiday hiatus in December, family planning and parenting support, mental health resources, professional development reimbursement, commuter benefits, and relocation assistance depending on role eligibility.

Anduril Industries fosters a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture, emphasizing high ownership and rapid development cycles. Employees have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that directly contributes to national security and defense capabilities. The company supports continuous learning and professional growth, offering resources for skill development and career advancement. Joining Anduril means being part of a dynamic team dedicated to transforming defense technology and making a tangible impact in the field.
