Senior Systems Safety Engineer, Advanced Effects
Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Systems Safety Engineer to join our Air Dominance & Strike team within the Reliability & System Safety Engineering organization. This role focuses on ensuring the safety and reliability of advanced aircraft systems, contributing to our mission of transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities with cutting-edge technology.
In this position, you will develop and implement tailored System Safety program plans aligned with MIL-STD-882E and customer requirements. Your responsibilities include conducting complex safety analyses such as Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and System Safety Assessments (SSA) at both system and subsystem levels. Collaborating closely with design teams, you will identify and document hazards, manage hazard tracking databases, and ensure effective risk mitigation strategies are in place.
The ideal candidate possesses a minimum of 5 years of experience as a System Safety Engineer or in a related engineering role, with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a similar technical discipline. Experience with safety-critical hardware and software systems in the defense or aerospace industry, particularly with aircraft systems, is essential. A strong background in safety analysis techniques, including FHA, FTA, and FMECA, along with knowledge of MIL-STD-882E and other relevant safety standards, is required. Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance is also necessary.
Anduril offers a competitive salary range of $146,000 to $220,000 USD for this role, along with highly competitive equity grants.
