Senior Test Site Operations Engineer
The Senior Test Site Operations Engineer at Rocket Lab's Stennis Space Center facility plays a pivotal role in optimizing test operations and managing day-to-day program activities. This position is integral to the Neutron program, focusing on aligning resources and assessing progress toward test site targets to ensure the successful development of Rocket Lab's medium-lift, reusable launch vehicle.
Key responsibilities include coordinating test planning with design, test operations, ground support equipment, and technician teams, as well as external parties, to support a test cadence spanning two shifts, seven days a week. The role involves directing program management for weekly and monthly schedules, forecasting staffing and headcount needs, leading daily meetings to align engineering, operations, and safety teams, and developing key performance measures to optimize site operations and schedules.
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or a related technical discipline, along with over 10 years of experience in rocket systems test operations, flight test, oil and gas production operations, or other relevant industries. Demonstrated experience in coordinating cross-functional teams and managing complex projects within a rapidly evolving environment is essential.
