Senior User Research Manager – Metasearch (12-Month FTC)
Skyscanner is seeking a Senior User Research Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract to lead the Metasearch Research team. This team focuses on understanding how travelers choose, compare, and book options across Flights, Hotels, Packages, and Cars. The role involves elevating insights, shaping strategy, and championing the traveler experience. Reporting to the Director of Research within the Customer Experience team, the position collaborates closely with Product and Design leaders to influence decision-making across the marketplace.
Key responsibilities include leading strategic research initiatives by proactively identifying and scoping future research needs across Product, Design, Brand, and Marketing. The role provides strategic direction and hands-on leadership across active workstreams, ensuring insights seamlessly integrate into product development. Additionally, the position drives the development and application of sophisticated research methodologies, mentors and coaches the research team, and partners with cross-disciplinary teams to define research objectives and deliver impactful insights.
The ideal candidate possesses extensive mixed-methods research expertise, with a proven track record in leading research programs that combine qualitative and quantitative approaches. Comprehensive knowledge of research methodologies, strong leadership and mentoring skills, and the ability to translate complex data into compelling narratives are essential. A growth-oriented mindset, experience in dynamic environments, and a data-driven approach to decision-making are also key qualifications.
