Senior Vehicle Integration Engineer
Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Vehicle Integration Engineer to join the Neutron Vehicle Integration team, focusing on the integration, testing, and launch of the Neutron launch vehicle. This role involves developing processes, designing equipment, and collaborating with various teams to ensure the successful assembly and deployment of the Neutron vehicle.
Key responsibilities include developing concepts of operations, designing and building ground support tooling, and creating procedures for integrating flight hardware and ground support equipment. The engineer will support the Neutron Integration Manager in executing first and second stage vehicle integration, propellant systems, avionics, and autonomous flight termination systems. Additional duties involve refining inspection and test procedures, designing vehicle maintenance architecture, performing system-level checkouts, and maintaining integrated planning documents.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering and have over five years of experience in building and testing hardware associated with launch vehicles. Proficiency in authoring comprehensive work instructions and procedures for assembly, testing, and launch is essential. The role requires the ability to interface with multidisciplinary functions, including mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems.
The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $115,000 to $145,000, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
