Archer is seeking a Simulation Software Engineer to join our team in San Jose, California. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining our integrated lab environments, which are essential for validation and verification activities, quality evaluations, human factor assessments, and test pilot familiarization. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of sustainable air mobility through the development of all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft.

As a Simulation Software Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams and suppliers to integrate, instrument, and maintain simulation models within a real-time hardware-in-the-loop environment. You will build simulation models of various systems and integrate them into the overall framework, design and develop graphical user interfaces to control the real-time simulation environment, and assist in executing test plans and automating tests to ensure system reliability and performance.

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of experience in a related role. Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and Python is required, as well as experience with commercial off-the-shelf hardware-in-the-loop platforms such as NI or dSPACE. A solid understanding of communication standards and protocols, including RS-422/485, CAN/CAN-FD, ARINC-429, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and USB, is essential. Additionally, experience in developing models of physical systems based on requirements and prototyping graphical user interfaces based on user feedback is highly desirable.

Archer offers a competitive compensation package for this position, with a targeted base salary ranging from $110,000 to $150,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
