Monks is seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our Platform Engineering team, supporting a world-class media production environment for a leading global technology company. This role is pivotal in ensuring the high availability, performance, and resilience of critical server, storage, and media workflow systems. As one of two dedicated on-site SREs, you will collaborate with remote and consulting staff to provide continuous operational support and infrastructure improvement.

In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting all production hardware, servers, and storage infrastructure, with a specialized focus on the Storage Area Network (SAN). Your duties will include executing key maintenance and support for the SAN environment, managing directory and network services, and configuring shares and permissions. Additionally, you will oversee custom dashboards for 24/7 system monitoring and contribute to the development of applications that support media workflows.

The ideal candidate will have over 14 years of experience working with macOS and SAN environments, preferably Xsan, and possess deep expertise in Fibre Channel networking. Proficiency in hardware RAIDs, block storage, LUN creation, and thorough knowledge of macOS ACLs, POSIX permissions, and Directory Services are essential. Experience with Stornext, Jamf, shell scripting, remote connection technologies, and data management for media and entertainment is also required.
