Software Engineer, Air Defense
Anduril Industries is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Air Defense team in Broomfield, Colorado. This team is dedicated to developing advanced autonomous systems that detect, track, and neutralize unmanned aerial system (UAS) threats, enhancing national security and military capabilities.
In this role, the Software Engineer will be responsible for owning and deploying software solutions to customers, writing code to improve products, and scaling mission capabilities. The position involves collaborating across multiple teams to plan, build, and test complex functionalities, creating and analyzing metrics for debugging and monitoring, and partnering with end-users to translate needs into features. The role also requires up to 30% travel to build, test, and deploy capabilities in real-world environments.
Candidates should have a strong engineering background in fields such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics, with at least 3 years of experience working with programming languages like Python, C++, Rust, Go, or JavaScript. Experience in building software solutions involving significant data processing and analysis, the ability to navigate complex systems and established code bases, and a desire to work on critical software with real-world impact are essential. Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance is required.
Preferred qualifications include a strong background in Physics, Mathematics, or Motion Planning to inform modeling and simulation of physical systems, experience in developing and testing multi-agent autonomous systems, feature and algorithm development with an understanding of behavior trees, developing software or hardware for flight systems and safety-critical functionality, knowledge of distributed communication networks and message standards, and familiarity with military systems and operational tactics.
The salary range for this position is $144,000 to $191,000 USD annually.
