Software Engineer, Anvil
Anduril Industries is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Anvil team within the Tactical Recon & Strike (TRS) division. The Anvil platform is an autonomous kinetic interceptor designed for the precise and low-collateral defeat of Group 1 and 2 aerial threats. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge unmanned aerial systems (UAS) capabilities in a rapidly evolving defense technology company.
In this position, the Software Engineer will develop and enhance robotics software for the Anvil platform, owning feature development from design inception to customer deployment. Responsibilities include leading projects, mentoring other engineers, collaborating closely with hardware and manufacturing teams to influence hardware design, and integrating with other air defense and platform teams within the Anduril Lattice ecosystem.
Candidates should have a strong engineering background with at least 5 years of experience in C++ or Rust within a Linux development environment. A solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and code optimization is essential. Experience in troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems, as well as proficiency in data visualization and analysis using Python or Matlab, is required. Eligibility to obtain and hold a U.S. Department of Defense Security Clearance is mandatory.
Preferred qualifications include experience in robotics disciplines such as motion planning, perception, localization, mapping, and controls. Familiarity with programming for embedded and physical devices, Linux performance analysis tools, systems software optimization, and sensor characterization and analysis is advantageous.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $166,000 to $220,000 USD, along with highly competitive equity grants.
