Software Engineer, Cash App - Lending Products

Cash App, a product of Block, Inc., is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Lending Products team. This role focuses on developing and enhancing the lending capabilities within Cash App, aiming to provide users with seamless access to credit. As a Software Engineer on the Lending Products team, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, including credit risk, legal, compliance, product managers, and fellow engineers. Your primary responsibilities will involve leading or contributing to projects from conception to production, designing and building clean APIs optimized for performance and compliance, and managing existing Cash services. Additionally, you will be expected to experiment with emerging technologies and share insights to enhance team capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience working on complex systems and delivering quality software. A strong AI-first mentality is essential, leveraging AI to navigate and develop complex systems confidently. Familiarity with agentic engineering, a proactive approach to identifying and resolving system flaws, and resilience in handling complex situations are also key qualifications. Self-direction and comfort with ambiguity are crucial for success in this role.
