Software Engineer, Game Development
Anduril Industries is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in game development to join our team in Costa Mesa, California. Our team focuses on creating software that visualizes both real and simulated data, enabling users to evaluate mission concepts through "what if" scenarios. This role is integral to our Mission Simulation product, which supports business development and engineering initiatives.
In this position, you will collaborate with stakeholders to establish clear priorities and define expectations, translating them into actionable work scopes. Your responsibilities will include identifying technical risks and developing solutions in partnership with broader engineering groups. Additionally, you will ensure client stability by diagnosing and resolving defects, and analyze and optimize memory and performance across platforms ranging from high-end desktops to mobile AR systems.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent C++ skills and a solid understanding of software engineering principles. Experience working in large codebases to solve complex problems is essential, along with a strong grasp of 3D mathematics. A minimum of 5-7 years of professional programming experience is required. The ability to write clean, maintainable, and extensible code with attention to reusability is crucial. Experience in a broad range of engineering areas on shipping games or real-time visualization systems, with a focus on low-level code, is highly desirable. Excellent spoken and written communication skills are also necessary. Candidates must be U.S. Persons due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
Preferred qualifications include Linux development experience, experience developing on console platforms, and having shipped at least one AAA game title in a similar role.
Anduril offers a competitive salary range of $166,000 to $220,000 USD for this role.
