Spring Health is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Member Growth team, focusing on enhancing backend systems that facilitate member engagement and discovery of mental health services. This role is pivotal in delivering scalable and reliable user experiences, contributing directly to the company's mission of eliminating barriers to mental health care. The position is based in San Francisco, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring in-office presence 2–3 days per week.
The engineer will design and build scalable backend services using technologies such as Ruby on Rails, Python, GraphQL, and SQL. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop high-impact features, expanding and maintaining existing infrastructure, and ensuring system reliability through participation in on-call rotations. The role also involves contributing to architectural discussions, code reviews, and prioritization of technical debt.
Candidates should have 3–5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on backend development. Proficiency in languages like Ruby on Rails, Python, Java, or C# is required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Experience with observability tools, containerization, and cloud infrastructure is also desirable.
The target base salary range for this position is $138,000 to $161,000, complemented by a competitive total rewards package that includes stock options and benefits.
