Applied Intuition is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team focused on low-speed motion planning and control for autonomous vehicles. In this role, you will contribute to the development of our autonomous vehicle stack, working closely with both infrastructure and vehicle-side components. We value engineers who take ownership of technical and product decisions, engage directly with users and customers for feedback, and foster a dynamic team culture.

Your primary responsibilities will include designing and implementing motion planning and control modules deployable across various vehicle platforms, enabling precise autonomous navigation in constrained environments. You will also characterize customer vehicle dynamics to create tailored control solutions, bridging the gap between simulation and real-world performance. Additionally, you will evaluate and apply academic research to develop optimal-control-based solutions using techniques such as nonlinear Model Predictive Control (MPC) and Model Predictive Path Integral (MPPI) control.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for addressing challenging motion planning and control problems, with at least three years of experience in building production software using modern practices. Hands-on experience testing control solutions on production-grade vehicles is essential. Proficiency in control theory, numerical optimization, numerical analysis, and physics is required, along with enthusiasm for developing practical solutions in a fast-paced environment. Experience in writing high-performance C++ code is also necessary.

Compensation for this full-time position includes a base salary ranging from $125,000 to $232,000 annually, along with equity options and comprehensive benefits. Benefits encompass health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance coverage, 401(k) retirement plans with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Please note that benefits are subject to change and may vary based on the jurisdiction of employment.

At Applied Intuition, we emphasize a collaborative and customer-focused team culture, moving swiftly and striving for excellence in our products and business operations. If you are hands-on and looking to make a significant impact in advancing autonomous systems, Applied Intuition offers an environment where you can thrive.
