Applied Intuition is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to develop core middleware components and services within our software-defined vehicle (SDV) platform. This role requires expertise in C++ to build robust, high-performance communication and system management solutions. You will be instrumental in developing the foundational software layers that enable advanced vehicle functions, working on challenging problems in distributed systems, high-speed networking, and functional safety architecture.

In this position, you will design and implement core platform services using C++, focusing on multi-threading, concurrency, and performance optimization. You will develop and extend communication middleware utilizing protocols such as SOME/IP or DDS (and ideally Protobuf/gRPC) across the platform. Your work will involve specific engagement within the AUTOSAR Adaptive Platform functional clusters, including Adaptive Platform Core, Communication Management, Execution Management, and State Management. Additionally, you will apply your expertise in networking and the Ethernet stack to ensure reliable and high-throughput data exchange in the vehicle, and contribute to the robust design of system management functions such as Health Management and Diagnostics within the SDV architecture.

The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in shipping complex, production software, ideally in the embedded, automotive, or robotics domains. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required. Strong C++ expertise is essential, including a solid understanding of multi-threading programming, mutexes, and design patterns. Experience with communication middleware such as SOME/IP or DDS, and working knowledge of networking concepts built on the Ethernet stack are also necessary. A proactive attitude and the drive to take initiative in a fast-paced environment are highly valued.

Compensation for this role includes a base salary ranging from $140,500 to $271,000 annually, equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance coverage, 401k retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Please note that benefits are subject to change and may vary based on the jurisdiction of employment.
