Software Engineer – Motion Planning and Control
Applied Intuition is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Motion Planning and Control to join our team in Sunnyvale, California. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing advanced behavior and motion planning algorithms for off-road vehicles, contributing to our mission of delivering cutting-edge autonomy solutions. As part of a dynamic team, you will collaborate with domain experts across various fields to design and implement scalable and efficient software systems.
Your primary responsibilities will include analyzing user needs and software requirements to develop feasible design solutions within time and cost constraints. You will design, develop, and modify software specifications, determine performance standards, and participate in all aspects of software development, including design, implementation, and testing. Additionally, you will develop or direct software system testing or validation procedures, programming, or documentation, and architect solutions to any bottlenecks encountered. Building out infrastructure initiatives, optimizing cloud computing and storage costs, and designing new cloud projects will also be part of your role.
To be successful in this position, you must have at least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a related field. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Software Engineer in an autonomous technology company is required. Proficiency in C++, search algorithms, path planning, motion planning algorithms, obstacle avoidance, behavior trees, finite state machines, Markov decision processes, Robot Operating System (ROS), Model Predictive Control (MPC), Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR), Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controllers, and Linux is essential.
Applied Intuition offers a competitive salary range for this position, from $149,365 to $245,000 per year.
