Software Engineer - Planning
Applied Intuition is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in motion planning to join our dynamic team in Sunnyvale, California. As a key contributor, you will develop high-performance planning modules that generate traversable, kinematically feasible trajectories for autonomous vehicles across diverse on-road scenarios. This role is integral to our mission of accelerating the global adoption of safe, AI-driven machines.
In this position, you will design and implement state-of-the-art on-road behavior software, leveraging machine learning components to achieve both highway and city driving capabilities. Your responsibilities will include utilizing lightweight map data and perception system outputs to determine driving costs for planning, deploying planning modules to production hardware, and conducting on-road testing. Collaboration with customers' engineers and managing customer relationships will also be essential aspects of your day-to-day work.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field, along with over three years of experience in building production software using modern practices. Proficiency in developing planning solutions for autonomous vehicles or mobile robots, and fluency in writing high-performance C++ code are required. A passion for tackling challenging planning problems and enthusiasm for devising practical solutions in a fast-paced environment are highly valued.
Compensation for this full-time position includes a base salary ranging from $125,000 to $245,000 annually, equity options, and a comprehensive benefits package.
