Software Engineer (Windows Client)
Cato Networks is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Access Clients team. In this pivotal role, you will design, develop, and maintain core components of our Windows Client, utilized by hundreds of thousands of users worldwide in both household and enterprise environments. You will contribute to enhancing the functionality and stability of the Windows Client by developing core service functionalities and user-facing components.
Key responsibilities include developing core components for C++ Windows services and applications, working on the cross-platform C SDK library compatible with major operating systems, researching new technologies, and taking ownership of new features while leading collaborative efforts. You will support the entire application lifecycle, including release management and production support, and collaborate with quality assurance, technical support, product management, and other engineering teams to deliver integrated features.
The ideal candidate holds a BSc degree in Computer Science from a recognized university or possesses equivalent experience. A strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices is essential, along with at least 5 years of development experience in C++. Experience in developing applications or services on Windows is required, with Windows driver development being a significant advantage. A good understanding of multithreaded development, synchronization, and data structures is necessary, as well as extensive experience with networking, network protocols, and networking environments. Experience in developing low-level code in C or Rust is advantageous. The candidate should be passionate about delivering a great user experience, motivated and independent, a fast learner with excellent problem-solving skills, and a team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
