As a Spacecraft Mission Operations Engineer at Anduril Industries, you will be responsible for managing satellite operations and overseeing the mission control center for the company's on-orbit systems. This role involves developing mission control procedures, collaborating with engineering teams to establish mission concepts of operations, and becoming proficient with Anduril's ground software and orbital flight software systems. The Spacecraft Mission Operations team works closely with various departments, including spacecraft design, guidance and navigation control, and software teams, to enhance both ground and satellite capabilities, ensuring the health and safety of Anduril's spacecraft fleet.

Key responsibilities include owning mission operations plans and procedures for diverse spacecraft programs across all orbital regimes, integrating with legacy systems to modernize capabilities, and developing software-defined approaches to autonomous spacecraft operations. The role also involves collaborating with multiple teams to plan, build, and test complex functionalities, creating and analyzing metrics for debugging and monitoring, and coordinating with end-users and customers to translate needs into features while balancing user experience with engineering constraints. Additionally, the engineer will train other operators on the use and operation of Anduril spacecraft and support demanding schedules during ground testing, launch windows, and on-orbit operations.

Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance and possess a strong engineering background in fields such as Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related disciplines. A minimum of four years of professional experience in satellite or spacecraft operations is required, along with experience in conducting spacecraft operations and satellite command and control with a focus on system reliability and uptime. The ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and detailed requirements, solve technical problems with minimal oversight, and demonstrate clear communication and organizational skills, including documentation and training material, are essential.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $146,000 to $194,000 USD, with actual compensation varying based on factors such as work experience, education, and critical skills.
