Sr. Battery Test Engineer

Archer is seeking a Senior Battery Test Engineer to join our team in San Jose, California. As a leading aerospace company, we are dedicated to developing all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft to advance sustainable air mobility. This role is integral to ensuring the safety and performance of our battery systems, which are critical components of our innovative aircraft.

In this position, you will perform electrical and environmental testing on prototype and certified batteries for our eVTOL aircraft. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will develop and execute test plans for flight-critical hardware. Your responsibilities will include acceptance testing on modules, battery packs, and charge port assemblies, as well as designing and deploying custom test equipment and automation software to support battery research and development.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field, along with over eight years of experience in battery design, testing environments, or equipment design. Proficiency in testing battery packs both electrically and mechanically, experience with high-voltage systems, and familiarity with LabVIEW, MATLAB, and Python are essential. A positive, can-do attitude and demonstrated project execution experience are also key attributes.

Compensation for this role ranges from $144,000 to $189,000 annually, with actual offers determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
