Sr. Director of Product, Research and Training Infrastructure
CoreWeave is seeking a visionary Sr. Director of Product, Research and Training Infrastructure to lead the product strategy and engineering execution for services that power ambitious AI research labs. This executive role bridges the gap between hardware and researchers, delivering a seamless, high-performance environment for developing frontier models.
The Sr. Director will oversee the evolution of SUNK (Slurm on Kubernetes) to provide researchers with deterministic, bare-metal performance through a cloud-native interface. Responsibilities include driving the development of next-generation orchestrators and automated training-based evaluation frameworks, building infrastructure for sophisticated Reinforcement Learning (RL) and RLHF pipelines, and acting as the primary technical partner for lead researchers at global AI labs.
Candidates should have 15+ years of engineering leadership experience, with at least 5 years managing large-scale infrastructure at a top-tier research lab or AI-native cloud provider. Deep, hands-on knowledge of Slurm, Kubernetes, and networking requirements for distributed training clusters is essential. A background supporting frontier model research and a track record of delivering mission-critical services on multi-thousand GPU clusters are also required.
The base salary range for this role is $233,000 to $341,000, determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. The total rewards package includes a discretionary bonus, equity awards, and a comprehensive benefits program.
In 2026, CoreWeave is at the forefront of the largest infrastructure buildout in history, building AI Factories, not just data centers. Employees have the opportunity to work directly with the latest NVIDIA architectures and be architects of environments that enable new discoveries. The company moves at the speed of the researchers it supports, bypassing legacy cloud bottlenecks to deliver raw power.
