Archer is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in microcontroller and sensing technologies to join our team in San Jose, California. As a leading aerospace company, Archer is dedicated to developing all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft aimed at advancing sustainable air mobility. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the design and development of cutting-edge airborne power conversion and distribution systems.

In this position, you will lead the development of microcontroller, sensing, and control boards from conception through to production. Your responsibilities will include capturing detailed electrical system requirements, designing complete electrical systems, performing schematic capture using Altium Designer, and overseeing detailed design layouts. Additionally, you will utilize simulations, prototypes, and engineering tests to validate designs, select suitable microcontrollers, and design power supply, communication, sensing, and measurement electronic circuits. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize designs for overall vehicle performance is also a key aspect of this role.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience in electrical system and circuit board design. Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and a demonstrated ability to design PCBAs from concept to production are essential. A solid understanding of analog and power circuits, experience in designing PCBAs to minimize electromagnetic interference, and proficiency with high-speed communications are required. Familiarity with electrical engineering tools such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and signal generators is also necessary.

Archer offers a competitive base salary ranging from $144,000 to $188,000, determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
