Sr. Information System Security Officer (ISSO)
Rocket Lab Corporation is seeking a Senior Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to join their Space Systems team in Long Beach, CA. Rocket Lab is an end-to-end space company delivering responsive launch services, complete spacecraft design and manufacturing, payloads, satellite components, and more, with the goal of opening access to space. The Space Systems team builds everything from complete spacecraft and precision payloads to components and subsystems that allow them to thrive in space.
The ISSO will be responsible for maintaining the overall security posture for all Rocket Lab classified information systems and implementing the Risk Management Framework (RMF). Key responsibilities include ensuring classified information systems meet cybersecurity requirements and government directives through system auditing, vulnerability risk assessments, hardware and software configuration management, and investigations on security violations. The ISSO will also provide cybersecurity education and training to all system users and serve as a security advisor to system owners and development teams.
Candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience, with at least 5 years in cybersecurity, information technology, or a related field. They must possess or be able to obtain DoD 8140 IAM Level II security certification within 4 months of employment (CISSP, CISM, or Security+ equivalent). Experience with eMASS, SNOW, NIST 800-53, and NIST 800-171 implementations, as well as cyber tools such as Nessus and Splunk, is required. An active DoD Top Secret SCI clearance with CI polygraph is also necessary.
