Sr. Software Engineer, Backend - NT Connect
NinjaTrader is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the NT Connect team, focusing on developing and enhancing the API-based brokerage integration layer that connects with introducing brokers, fintech partners, and third-party platforms. This role is pivotal in designing, building, and evolving backend services that support partner integrations, brokerage APIs, and trading infrastructure. As a senior engineer, your contributions will directly influence partner success, trader outcomes, and revenue growth.
In this position, you will design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend services for the NT Connect brokerage API platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and low-latency performance. Responsibilities include architecting and implementing RESTful and WebSocket APIs for partner integrations, deploying and managing backend services in a Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform environment, and implementing robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using industry-standard observability tools. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions that meet partner requirements, compliance standards, and business goals is essential.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with over eight years of experience in developing distributed backend systems, preferably in high-performance or near real-time environments. Strong proficiency in JVM-based languages such as Scala, Java, or Kotlin is required, along with experience in designing and building RESTful APIs and WebSocket services for external partners or B2B platforms. Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure, particularly Google Cloud Platform, is also necessary.
NinjaTrader offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $165,000 to $190,000 annually, with an additional annual target bonus of up to 12%.
