Sr. Systems Engineer, OTA-Connectivity
Lucid Motors is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Connectivity and Over-The-Air (OTA) update team in Southfield, MI. This role involves leading the end-to-end systems engineering for the vehicle OTA software update ecosystem, encompassing in-vehicle electronic control units (ECUs), telematics, update orchestration, diagnostics, and cloud services. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in defining Model-Based Systems Engineering deliverables for the Connectivity domain and OTA features, contributing to our mission of delivering intuitive and innovative electric vehicles.
Key responsibilities include decomposing vehicle-level OTA features into ECU-level and cloud/service requirements, ensuring traceability to verification and validation processes. The engineer will collaborate closely with Functional Safety Engineers to develop and uphold technical safety concepts, aligning safety analyses such as Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) and Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) decomposition for OTA activities. Additionally, the role involves working with test teams to define and execute verification and validation plans, coordinating with hardware and software development teams on architecture and implementation, and supporting product-level validation test plan development and execution.
The ideal candidate will have over three years of experience in systems engineering for connected vehicles or embedded systems, with a focus on OTA functionalities. Proficiency in vehicle connectivity architecture, including telematics control units (TCU), modems, GNSS, and antennas, is essential. A solid understanding of cellular technologies, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth is required, along with experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering within a production environment. Familiarity with automotive embedded electronic product development, ISO 26262 standards, and ASPICE process models is also necessary. Hands-on experience with bootloaders, secure boot, A/B partitioning, delta updates, and campaign orchestration will be advantageous.
