Archer is seeking a Staff Autonomy Engineer to lead the development of autonomous flight systems for their all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement advanced autonomy frameworks that enhance the safety and efficiency of urban air mobility solutions.

The Staff Autonomy Engineer will be responsible for architecting autonomy frameworks, focusing on multi-agent coordination, task allocation, and real-time resource scheduling. Key duties include designing and integrating C++ software for guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) modules, ensuring scalability across various aerial platforms. The role also entails developing state estimation and localization software that fuses data from passive sensors, GPS, and IMU to enable robust navigation in diverse environments.

Candidates should possess a minimum of 9 years of experience in aerospace autonomy, robotics systems, or GNC software development. A Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Computer Engineering is required, with a preference for a Master's degree or specialized experience in autonomous systems. Proficiency in C++ for real-time embedded software and experience with robotics frameworks like ROS are essential. Additionally, expertise in state estimation techniques, including vision-based navigation and sensor fusion, is highly valued.

Archer offers a competitive compensation package, targeting a base salary between $170,000 and $215,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The company is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment, providing opportunities for professional growth and development in the rapidly evolving field of urban air mobility.
