Staff Business Development/ Operations Manager (Image Sensors)
Samsung Semiconductor is seeking a skilled Business Development Manager to oversee the development and implementation of advanced image sensor technologies. This pivotal role involves managing the entire lifecycle of image sensor projects, from concept to production, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality solutions. The position is based at our San Jose headquarters, with an expectation of daily onsite presence and approximately 25% international travel.
Key responsibilities include leading technical communications between customers and internal engineering teams to capture and translate customer requirements into clear image sensor specifications. The role also involves supporting design wins through custom-designed silicon, building relationships with marketing and development teams to understand and promote Samsung's differentiated offerings, and monitoring customer evaluations to provide proactive service. Additionally, the manager will drive operations teams toward factory readiness for high-volume mass production, identify and resolve production blockers, and ensure development schedules align with customer product launch timelines.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, along with proven experience in managing complex engineering programs, particularly in image sensor products. A deep understanding of CMOS image sensor design—including pixels, analog circuits, ADC, digital processing, and high-speed interfaces—is essential. Experience with international OEM/ODM silicon foundry partners and a strong grasp of high-volume production and test processes are also required. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to synthesize technical and business information for informed decision-making and be willing to travel internationally up to 25% of the time.
Samsung Semiconductor offers a comprehensive compensation package, with a base salary range of $152,000 to $236,000, depending on location and experience. Employees enjoy benefits such as over four weeks of paid time off annually, including holidays and sick leave, a charitable giving match program, support for family planning and adoption, access to on-demand wellness apps and confidential therapy sessions, onsite café and gym facilities, and a flexible work environment to promote work-life balance.
