Archer is seeking a Staff Electronics Engineer to lead the architecture and design of mission-critical controller boards for our electric engines and generators. This role is integral to our Propulsion Electronics Team, focusing on developing advanced electronic systems that power our all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. As a key player in our engineering department, you will contribute to our mission of advancing sustainable air mobility.

In this position, you will own the technical roadmap and architecture for engine and generator controller boards from concept through flight certification. Your responsibilities include driving microcontroller selection, processing architecture, and memory management to meet real-time performance and safety requirements. Additionally, you will design low-voltage power distribution systems, precision analog signal conditioning circuits, and sensor interfaces for various parameters in harsh environments. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will integrate controllers into the propulsion system and develop validation plans to meet performance and certification standards.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, with over eight years of experience in complex electronics and control system design. Proven expertise in architecting microcontroller-based control systems from concept to production is essential. A deep understanding of low-voltage power design, analog signal conditioning, and communication protocols such as CAN and Ethernet is required. Experience in designing fault-tolerant, redundant electronics for safety-critical applications and strong knowledge of PCBA design for EMC/EMI mitigation are also necessary. Demonstrated technical leadership and the ability to mentor engineering teams are highly valued.

Archer offers a competitive compensation package, with a base pay range of $170,800 to $225,600, determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
