Staff Flight Deck Avionics Systems Engineer
Archer is seeking a Staff Flight Deck Avionics Systems Engineer to join our team in developing cutting-edge electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. This role is integral to our mission of advancing sustainable air mobility by designing and operating all-electric aircraft capable of carrying four passengers with minimal noise. The position offers the flexibility of remote work, with occasional travel as needed.
In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including developing requirements, system modeling, interface definition, safety analysis, verification procedure creation, and test execution. You will ensure that the Flight Management (FMS) and Flight Guidance (FGS) subsystems' requirements are complete and correct, with traceability to higher-level requirements. Additionally, you will perform integration activities of the Avionics System, including the FMS and FGS subsystems, in laboratory settings, and assist with defining installation and qualification requirements for these systems.
The ideal candidate will have over eight years of experience in integrated avionics systems development, integration, and/or installation, with specific experience in FMS and FGS functional definition. A strong understanding of aviation protocols such as A429, Ethernet, RS-232/RS-422, discretes, analogs, and CAN bus is essential. Experience with formal systems engineering processes, including familiarity with 14 CFR Part 23 and/or 25 Certification, ARP-4754/ARP-4761, DO-254, and DO-178b/c, is required. Proficiency in requirements management tools like Polarian and/or DOORS, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset are also important. A bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field is required.
Archer offers a competitive base salary ranging from $160,000 to $200,000, determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
