Archer is seeking a Staff Flight Sciences Software and HPC Engineer to join our Flight Sciences department in San Jose, California. As a leading aerospace company, Archer is dedicated to developing all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft aimed at revolutionizing urban air mobility with sustainable and efficient solutions.

In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain internal software libraries and applications, as well as computing infrastructure, to enhance engineering efficiency. You will promote the use of shared computational tools and practices across engineering teams, develop processes to improve the reproducibility and traceability of computations, and advocate for engineering and computing needs within the company-wide IT department.

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computational Engineering, or a related field, along with over five years of experience in developing scientific or engineering software for flight sciences disciplines. Proficiency in the scientific Python ecosystem, experience with HPC systems design and administration, and a solid understanding of software development best practices are essential. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are also required.

Archer offers a competitive base salary ranging from $162,800 to $217,600, determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional benefits include performance bonuses and opportunities for career development within a dynamic and innovative company.
