Staff Platform Engineer
As a Staff Platform Engineer at Motive, you will lead the development of systems and automation that form the backbone of our platform across SaaS, Mobile, and Embedded/IoT products. This role focuses on creating secure and highly scalable distributed services, utilizing technologies such as Kubernetes, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Tekton/TPAC, Helm, Bash, and Python. You will play a pivotal role in advancing an automated and user-friendly ecosystem supporting services written in Golang, Ruby on Rails, and Python, as well as Kotlin and C for our mobile and embedded applications.
Your primary responsibilities will include defining the direction and initiatives for the team and platform, strategizing and building fully automated bootstrapping and delivery pipelines, and promoting self-service engineering technologies. Additionally, you will enhance the local development experience, build self-healing infrastructure for robust automated testing, improve system performance and reliability, and host sessions to drive adoption and collaboration. Mentoring team engineers and collaborating on designs will also be key aspects of your role.
We are seeking candidates with over six years of engineering experience and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. Essential qualifications include experience in building CI/CD infrastructure with various pipeline solutions, improving the software development lifecycle release process, streamlining microservice creation mechanisms, and enhancing developers' local environments. Proficiency in Golang, Ruby on Rails, Python, or similar languages, along with working knowledge of AWS services and technologies, is required. Experience with infrastructure as code and configuration management tools, large-scale distributed release management processes, and container orchestration frameworks like Kubernetes is also essential.
The compensation for this position ranges from $189,000 to $236,000 USD annually, depending on your location.
