Staff Platform Engineer

As a Staff Platform Engineer at Motive, you will be a key member of the Developer Productivity team, responsible for building and automating the development, build, and delivery systems that form the backbone of Motive's platform across SaaS, Mobile, and Embedded/IoT products. Motive empowers physical operations with tools to enhance safety, productivity, and profitability, serving nearly 100,000 customers across various industries.

In this role, you will define the direction and initiatives for the team and platform, strategize and build fully automated bootstrapping and delivery pipelines, and advance self-service engineering technologies. You will also improve the local development experience, build self-healing infrastructure for automated testing, enhance system performance and reliability, and mentor team engineers.

The ideal candidate will have over six years of engineering experience and a B.S. degree in Engineering or a related field. Proficiency in building CI/CD infrastructure with tools like Tekton, Prow, CircleCI, Jenkins, Spinnaker, and GitHub Actions is essential. Experience in Golang, Ruby on Rails, Python, and familiarity with AWS services, infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and Ansible, and container orchestration frameworks such as Kubernetes are also required.

Motive offers a competitive compensation range of $181,000 to $226,000 USD, depending on location. Benefits include health, pharmacy, optical, and dental care, paid time off, short and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, and 401(k) contributions.
