Staff Platform Engineer
As a Staff Platform Engineer at Motive, you will lead the development of systems and automation that form the backbone of our platform across SaaS, Mobile, and Embedded/IoT products. This role is integral to enhancing developer productivity and ensuring the scalability and security of our distributed services. You will collaborate with a dynamic team dedicated to empowering physical operations through innovative technology solutions.
In this position, your primary responsibilities will include defining the direction and initiatives for the team and platform, strategizing and building fully automated bootstrapping and delivery pipelines, and advancing self-service engineering technologies. You will also focus on improving the local development experience, building self-healing infrastructure for robust automated testing, enhancing system performance and reliability, and hosting sessions to drive adoption and collaboration. Additionally, you will coach and mentor team engineers and collaborate on designs.
The ideal candidate will have over six years of engineering experience and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. Proficiency in building CI/CD infrastructure with various pipeline solutions, improving the SDLC release process, and streamlining microservice creation mechanisms is essential. Experience with Golang, Ruby on Rails, Python, or similar languages, as well as working knowledge of AWS services and technologies, is required. Familiarity with infrastructure as code and configuration management tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Helm, along with experience in a containerized environment using orchestration frameworks such as Kubernetes, is also necessary.
Motive offers a competitive compensation package, with salaries ranging from $164,000 to $205,000 USD, depending on location and experience.
