Staff Software Engineer, Developer Platform
Anduril Industries is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Developer Platform team, which is integral to the company's engineering ecosystem. This team focuses on building critical infrastructure that enables the delivery of mission-critical defense systems. The role involves optimizing release pipelines and CI/CD workflows across Anduril's Software Factories in the US, Australia, and the UK, as well as developing productivity-enhancing tools and data infrastructure to support the company's growth and mission.
Key responsibilities include leading engineering efforts to optimize release systems and development workflows, architecting scalable AI-powered automation solutions to enhance developer productivity while maintaining high standards of quality and security, designing and implementing robust data infrastructure to effectively instrument diverse business lines, and partnering with Heads of Mission Engineering to define and track critical KPIs that drive strategic decision-making.
The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in an engineering setting, with a strong background in platform engineering and development workflows. Proficiency in Golang is essential for creating integrations with other Anduril services and improving the dx tool. Strong Python experience is also required for creating, analyzing, and visualizing complex datasets. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to quickly learn and adapt to unfamiliar technologies across multiple domains and possess a self-directed, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and craft innovative solutions. Due to the nature of the work, the candidate must be a U.S. Person to access export-controlled information or facilities.
Preferred qualifications include exceptional systems thinking with meticulous attention to detail, outstanding communication, and project management skills. Proficiency with TypeScript/React for developing lightweight UI solutions is advantageous, as is a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. A proven track record in fast-paced startup environments is also desirable.
Anduril offers a competitive salary range of $220,000 to $292,000 USD, with actual offers varying based on factors such as work experience, education, critical skills, and business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in most full-time offers.
