Anduril Industries is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the development of a distributed simulation product that enables diverse groups of robots to collaborate across multiple physical sites. This role involves working within a dynamic team dedicated to advancing defense technology through innovative solutions.

The primary responsibilities include designing and implementing systems that address challenges such as differing server-client data perspectives, network latency, GPU-intensive computations, and secure data transfer across segregated networks. The engineer will also oversee the registration of new robots, manage software updates without compromising availability, and monitor simulation states for debugging and reporting purposes.

Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance. They should have recent experience writing and maintaining complex software codebases, prior experience in distributed simulation—particularly in developing massive multiplayer online games or similar defense contexts—and experience leading and mentoring teams of at least five engineers.

Preferred qualifications include a strong background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics, with over eight years of software engineering experience in languages such as C++, Golang, Java, Rust, or Python. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS), and tools like Nix is also desirable.

Anduril offers a competitive salary range of $220,000 to $292,000, along with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision plans, income protection, generous time off, family planning support, mental health resources, professional development reimbursement, commuter benefits, relocation assistance, and retirement savings plans.
