Archer is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Engineering Applications team in San Jose, California. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining full-stack web applications and integration tools that support our aerospace engineering teams. Your work will directly contribute to the efficiency and compliance of our processes as we design and manufacture all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain modern applications using TypeScript, JavaScript, and Go. Your responsibilities will include developing web applications, web APIs, and desktop environments, with an initial focus on managing airplane system test lab configurations. You will identify gaps in existing processes and workflows, proposing and implementing new tools and optimizations to enhance our engineering capabilities.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, along with at least five years of professional software development experience emphasizing tooling, automation, or DevOps. Experience in the aerospace industry is preferred. Proficiency in front-end development using TypeScript and React, back-end development with Node Express or Gin, and strong skills in relational databases and schema design are essential. A solid foundation in software development best practices, including version control, code reviews, and testing, is required.

At Archer, we offer a competitive base salary ranging from $173,000 to $216,000, determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
