Archer is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the management of lab integration environments supporting validation and verification activities, quality evaluations, human factor assessments, and test pilot training. This role is integral to Archer's mission of advancing sustainable air mobility through the development of all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft.

The successful candidate will architect and oversee simulation environments, including Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), CeRT, and Iron Bird setups. Responsibilities encompass integrating simulation models in real-time hardware-in-the-loop environments, developing and optimizing simulation pipelines with CI/CD integration, and collaborating cross-functionally to maintain configuration of these models. Additionally, the role involves integrating third-party software and hardware systems into cohesive simulation architectures and guiding the design of graphical user interfaces for real-time simulation control.

Candidates must possess a minimum of 9 years of experience in simulation software development and systems integration, along with a Bachelor's or higher degree in Aerospace, Software, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced proficiency in C/C++ and Python, extensive experience with MATLAB/Simulink, and a strong background in developing real-time HIL test infrastructures are essential. The role also requires expertise in communication standards and protocols such as RS-422/485, CAN/CAN-FD, ARINC-429, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and USB, as well as experience in prototyping graphical user interfaces based on user feedback.

Archer offers a competitive base salary ranging from $170,000 to $215,000, determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The company fosters a collaborative and high-performance engineering culture, providing opportunities for mentorship and professional growth within the rapidly evolving field of sustainable air mobility.
