Staff Software Engineer
Kaseya is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Datto Endpoint Backup product group. In this role, you will drive architectural direction, lead complex cross-team initiatives, mentor engineers, and ensure our backup and cloud services systems are scalable, resilient, and strategic. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely within the United States.
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will lead and mentor a team of software engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions. You will drive the technical vision and strategy for the engineering team, contribute to large-scale product integrations by leveraging third-party APIs, enhance UI workflows, and adhere to the latest security standards. Additionally, you will apply application knowledge to design high-impact solutions to improve the stability and quality of the platform, take a proactive approach to resolve application issues, develop unit and functional tests to prevent future occurrences, and assist with refining, prioritizing, and managing the team's issue backlog. Promoting positive communication, collaboration, and team growth is also a key responsibility.
The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with 7+ years of programming experience. Strong computer science fundamentals, including industry-standard patterns and practices, are essential. Extensive experience working with cross-functional teams to complete root cause analysis, debug code, and fix bugs is required. A passion for technology and a desire to teach and learn from the best in software development are important. Proficiency with public cloud platforms and best practices for cloud architecture, as well as deploying and managing applications on public cloud platforms, is necessary. The candidate should be independent, driven, creative, and take ownership of their work. The ability to integrate AI solutions into existing systems to enhance functionality and performance, design scalable and high-performance applications using public cloud services, and knowledge of cloud security best practices are also required. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
