Staff Test Engineer, NR-NTN
As a Staff Test Engineer focusing on RAN, you will play a key role in the detailed testing for NR-NTN products at Skylo. You will be responsible for setting up test-benches, developing and executing test cases for NR-NTN RAN nodes in satellite radio access networks.
Your primary responsibilities will include analyzing use cases and requirements for NR-NTN related requests from customers and deployment engineers, converting them into comprehensive test plans. You will develop and implement end-to-end test automation to validate NTN-specific test cases against internal algorithms and 3GPP standards. Additionally, you will augment existing test setups with new tools, reproduce and test field scenarios based on customer feedback, and perform log analysis, performance, capacity, and soak testing. Coordinating with the development team to raise and resolve bugs will also be a key part of your role.
To be successful in this position, you should have over 10 years of experience in testing 4G/5G radio access wireless networking products, with a preference for NR-NTN or Nb-NTN network side testing experience. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required, with a master's degree preferred. Experience with UE Simulators like Keysight or Amarisoft, creating test cases using Robot Framework or similar automation frameworks, and familiarity with scripting languages such as Python are advantageous. A deep understanding of 3GPP protocols, call flows, end-to-end traffic throughput requirements, and wireless radio access and core standards testing is essential. Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and log analysis skills are also necessary.
