Supplier Manager, Global Import Compliance
As a Supplier Manager on Block's Global Freight & Trade Compliance team, you will oversee the global import compliance program for Block's diverse hardware portfolio. This role involves managing customs clearance operations and developing import compliance strategies across all brands, ensuring adherence to regulations in markets including the US, Canada, EU, UK, Japan, and Australia. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable compliance solutions that support both new product development and ongoing operations.
Key responsibilities include designing and optimizing customs clearance networks to balance speed, cost, and compliance accuracy. You will lead strategic sourcing initiatives, manage complex supplier relationships, and drive continuous improvement in clearance times and entry accuracy through supplier performance management. Additionally, you will oversee HTS classification programs, ensure accurate duty assessments, and manage customs valuation and record retention processes.
The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in global logistics procurement and carrier management, with deep expertise in HTS classification, customs valuation, entry filing, and import regulations. Strong negotiation skills, the ability to manage complex supplier relationships, and experience in developing and implementing compliance strategies are essential. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment are also important.
