SVP, Corporate Development
The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Corporate Development at CLEAR is a pivotal leadership role reporting directly to the President. This position is instrumental in shaping the company's future through strategic deals, alliances, investments, and mission-critical initiatives. CLEAR, a leader in secure identity solutions with over 38 million members, is dedicated to transforming how people live, work, and travel by providing frictionless experiences.
In this role, the SVP will partner with executive leadership to define and execute CLEAR's acquisition and investment growth strategy, ensuring alignment with long-term business objectives. Responsibilities include overseeing the entire M&A and minority investment process—from sourcing and due diligence to valuation, deal structuring, negotiation, and closing. The SVP will also lead post-investment governance, serve as a Board Observer or Director when appropriate, and drive value creation post-close. Additionally, the role involves developing strategic alliances that catalyze commercial pilots, product integrations, or distribution partnerships to accelerate CLEAR's growth.
The ideal candidate will have over 12 years of experience independently leading all aspects of corporate development and M&A transactions, preferably within the consumer, travel, or technology sectors. A successful track record in deal sourcing and relationship building to drive the deal pipeline is essential. The role requires a rigorous, data-driven approach to strategic evaluation, due diligence, and financial modeling. Strong leadership capabilities are necessary to manage complex, high-stakes projects involving multiple stakeholders. The candidate should possess executive presence and a clear communication style, comfortable engaging with both internal and external C-level leaders. A problem-solving mindset, adaptability to fast-moving priorities, and a commitment to learning and growth are also key attributes.
CLEAR offers a comprehensive compensation package, including a base salary range of $300,000 to $360,000, depending on skills and experience. Additional benefits encompass comprehensive healthcare plans, family-building support, flexible time off, an annual wellness stipend, free OneMedical memberships for employees and their dependents, a CLEAR Plus membership, and a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match.
Joining CLEAR means becoming part of a mission-driven organization that values innovation, collaboration, and making experiences safer and easier. The company fosters a dynamic work environment with bright, energetic offices, open concepts, and ample spaces for collaboration. Employees are supported in their professional development through learning and development programs, stipends, and reimbursement initiatives. CLEAR's culture emphasizes hard work, humility, and a commitment to delivering exceptional results.
