Applied Intuition is seeking a System Safety Engineer to join our Autonomy Trucking team in Sunnyvale, California. In this role, you will be instrumental in defining and managing the safety architecture and requirements for both autonomy software and hardware, contributing significantly to the technical direction of our projects in the automotive industry.

As a System Safety Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include deriving and managing safety concepts, requirements, and specifications for our Level 4 Self-Driving System (SDS) product line. You will lead the development of safety architecture, perform safety analyses such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and System-Theoretic Process Analysis (STPA), and work closely with verification and validation teams to ensure comprehensive requirement verification throughout the development process. Additionally, you will contribute to the overall safety case of the final product and promote a culture of safety within the organization.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a System Safety Engineering or Functional Safety Engineering role, with a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and software engineering. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or a related field is required. Experience with Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), autonomous systems, and robotics is essential. Proficiency in relevant automotive industry standards and regulations, such as ISO 26262, ISO 21448, ISO/DPAS 8800, and UL4600, is also necessary.

Compensation for this full-time, on-site position includes a base salary ranging from $118,000 to $250,000 annually, equity options, and a comprehensive benefits package.
